IT Business Systems Manager

Altarum is pleased to announce an opening for an IT Business Systems Manager (IT/BSM) to join our Corporate IT Team. This position can work out of our office location in Ann Arbor, MI or Washington, DC.  As Business Systems Manager, you will report to the Corporate Director, Information Security and Technology (CD/IT), as well as manage Corporate IT Development Staff.  The IT/BSM will be responsible for all aspects of the Business System applications, including but not limited to HRIS, Accounting System, CRM, SharePoint, etc. The IT/BSM would be able to manage and utilize existing Corporate IT Development Staff to accomplish needed maintenance tasks, strategic projects as well as support the Corporate IT Helpdesk Manager and team by performing Tier 2 and Tier 3 troubleshooting on these respective systems.   

The IT/BSM will also be responsible for administrative tasking as it relates to the role of a manager within Corporate IT, this includes but is not limited to submitting budget needs, performing performance evaluations at regular intervals, being an advocate for the Enterprise and working with the CD/IT to achieve strategic success via project completion. 

• Assume responsibility for the technical side of all Enterprise applications.
• Provide expert knowledge of solution/application architecture and consult with business and other technology teams including vendor partners.
• Work with business clients and product owners to review business drivers, business requirements, and strategies to anticipate future business/technology needs.
• Design and improve the processes and tools that drive our Business Systems and Technical Operations teams.
• Be able to manage and develop within Microsoft's SharePoint Online environment
• Provide Technical Leadership and manage a team of technical specialists in support of strategic implementation projects.
• Lead initiatives towards the continuous improvement of culture, technology, and processes to ensure alignment between business strategies and technology roadmaps.
• Coordinate project meetings and working sessions with project stakeholders, as required.
• Acts as a liaison with vendors/consultants, project stakeholders, business, policy and IT teams.
• Maintain business and operational relationship between IT and other project stakeholders.
• Assisting users in the development of test plans and test case selection; coordinating and/or performing testing to ensure that documented requirements and business needs are met, and the product delivers value to the organization.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration, or related discipline or equivalent experience. While an advanced degree is preferred, the value is placed on the extent of the relevant experience and accomplishment.
• 5 + years of relevant experience in systems analysis, application development, project management, and system administration.
• Excellent communication, presentation, influencing and reasoning skills to earn support of business leaders, colleagues and vendor representatives.
• Attention to detail and the ability to analyze and research data and reports; uses information to assist department with making financial decisions.
• Demonstrated project management skills.
• Desire to take the initiative, moving projects/ideas forward with clarity.
• Leadership skills to lead cross-functional teams towards common solutions.
• Able to adapt quickly to changing environment; flexible.
