    Altarum is currently looking for an Interoperability Standards Analyst to join our interoperability team within the Center for Connected Health.  This position will conduct independent research on the rapidly evolving health information exchange standards and analyze the impact of these standards on public health.  The analyst will summarize findings; prepare presentations and reports for our team and clients.  The interoperability standards analyst will actively participate in standards organizations work groups, creating and balloting interoperability specifications.

    This position has the option of working remote or onsite.


    • Publish and maintain national interoperability implementation guides and specifications
    • Compare and document Altarum supported systems data dictionaries with national standards
    • Test and document the limitations of existing FHIR, data format, and associated security specifications
    • Create FHIR resources and profiles needed for public health and EHR interoperability
    • Serve as the project facilitator and publishing facilitator for HL7 FHIR projects
    • Conduct research and prepare reports on interoperability and security standards regulations


    • Bachelor’s degree and relevant work experience: Computer Science, Health Information Technology
    • Demonstrated knowledge of XML, JSON and RESTful APIs
    • Experience as an HL7 publishing, modeling or conformance facilitator preferred
    • Experience testing health information exchange protocols
    • Ability to analyze and summarize documentation on interoperability and security regulations and specifications
    • Very strong written and oral communication skills
    • Proven ability to interact directly with clients and effectively understand needs while managing expectations
    • Proven ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical team members
    • Proven ability to effectively work both independently and within a team
