    An Analyst in the Center for Behavioral Health at Altarum thrives in a very fast-paced, demanding, but rewarding, consulting environment. You will have the opportunity to use your knowledge of public health, passion for improving healthcare, and consulting skills to contribute to multiple health projects, with a focus on projects centering on behavioral health. As a full-time member of a dynamic consulting group, your specific projects, tasks, and responsibilities will evolve and change over time. During your career at Altarum, you will support multiple projects and you’ll be asked to step into different roles on projects that support the operations of projects in the Center.  You will work with project leads and project teams to implement programs for clients. As an analyst for the Center, you may engage in research activities including conducting interviews, and performing literature reviews.

    Altarum’s Center for Behavioral Health works to provide consulting to improve mental health and substance abuse services.  We work to achieve these goals through policy and analysis efforts, technical assistance and training, and policy and planning efforts with communities and states.     Our preference is for candidates with knowledge of substance use disorder, mental health, or behavioral health policy issues.

    Responsibilities

    • Helping to build tools to enable novel healthcare possibilities
    • Coordinate conference calls and follow up on action items to ensure project objectives are being met according to program guidelines
    • Work with Center staff to prepare presentation materials including PowerPoint slides for presentation to internal teams as well as external organizations
    • Providing general project support and coordination

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • 2+ years of experience in healthcare – preference for knowledge of substance abuse, mental health, or behavioral health policy issues.
    • Desire to integrate research, technical, analytical, and consulting skills to serve the public good and improve human health
    • An inquisitive and innovative nature, excellent critical and analytical thinking, integrity, willingness to step into new roles, strong communication and facilitation skills, team focused mentality, and a commitment to continuously learning and improving
    • Excellent written and verbal communication with exceptional attention to quality and detail
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
