    Altarum is seeking an Analyst for our Center for Military and Veterans Health which includes our Survey Science portfolio for various other populations. This position will be based on our Washington DC office but may require some travel to client sites in Falls Church, VA. The Analyst will be responsible for acquisition, management, analysis and reporting of health-related data. This positon may also require support to analytics based education and training events (webinars, classroom training, podcasts). We are seeking a candidate with some experience SAS or STATA and advanced in Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word and Powerpoint.

    • Survey Science (for Military and Veterans and other vulnerable and publically insured populations)
    • Advanced Analytics

    Responsibilities

    • Analysis of survey and claims data and other health care related datasets
    • Qualitative data collection
    • Assist in coordinating and delivering analytics based trainings such as webinars, classroom training and podcast
    • Applying advanced Excel techniques to develop and maintain workbooks, including the use of pivots and queries.
    • Creating customized reports and presentation-quality data listings, summary tables, and figures.
    • Working independently with little supervision and ability to work and communicate effectively in a team environment.
    • Understanding and synthesizing data and communicating analyses into simple language for clients and other audiences.

    Qualifications

    • Master’s in Public Health, Statistics, Epidemiology, health care management or other related degree preferred.
    • Ability to demonstrate an exceptionally high level of organization and attention to detail.
    • Strong understanding of the importance of the quality assurance process.
    • Experience designing and constructing databases for research analysis, responding to technical data requests,
    • Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team including researchers, research analysts, systems analysts, and programmers.
    • Strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to work with others, frequently across multiple office locations.
    • Positive attitude—ability to collaborate with and promote a positive relationship between colleagues, partners, and clients
    • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with clients on an as needed basis
    • Experience using Microsoft Office Tools (i.e. Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Access)
    • Must be able to obtain a low level DoD clearance (sole US citizen)
