    Palladian Partners, an Altarum company based in Silver Spring, MD, provides comprehensive communications support services to some of the biggest names in biomedical, public health, and criminal justice research. We're looking for an outstanding Web Content Manager to join our team and work onsite at our client’s office in in Bethesda, MD.     Responsibilities

    As a Web Content Manager you will use your advanced knowledge of web and mobile communication strategies to help our client meet its strategic goals. You will be a significant contributor to large digital projects, informing the overall approach, budget, and timeline. You will work in a fast-paced environment that requires great attention to detail and the ability to maintain a positive relationship with demanding clients. As part of our Editorial department, you will work with a team of health and science writers, digital content strategists, and communications specialists, and will collaborate with federal partners. This position involves working in a fast-paced environment and managing and executing many tasks simultaneously. Successful candidates will:

    • Develop and manage project schedules using project management tools, keeping management apprised of progress, changes, and potential obstacles
    • Serve as the primary client liaison for web content-related tasks and activities on a day-to-day basis
    • Oversee the development and maintenance of health and science content, including editing and proofreading webpages as well as online products such as newsletter articles, fact sheets, press releases, leadership messages, and feature stories
    • Edit content to ensure scientific accuracy, audience appropriateness, and consistent and appropriate tone
    • Review content to ensure compliance with government style guides and regulations
    • Advise clients on the most effective methods for presenting their materials on the web
    • Collaborate with team members to identify innovative ways to promote and market web content
    • Contribute knowledge about content strategy to the team’s overall digital strategy, including identifying needs and proposing solutions
    • Support special projects on an as-needed basis

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, journalism, or related field, or other bachelor’s degree with equivalent relevant work experience
    • Five to seven years of experience writing and editing, three to five of which include managing editorial projects and websites
    • Experience writing and editing health and science content for a variety of audiences
    • Outstanding editing and proofreading skills, including familiarity with plain language and use of editorial style guides
    • Superb client management and customer service skills, including producing clear, error-free correspondence and the ability to articulate strategies and solutions in meetings
    • Experience working with creative and technical staff members, communicating your vision, and understanding project limitations
    • Ability to work comfortably under pressure and to organize, track, and manage multiple tasks and deadlines, including development of project schedules and timelines
    • Understanding of content strategy and familiarity with web writing best practices
    • Ability to learn quickly, respond/react rapidly to changing priorities, and be dedicated to completing all tasks
    • Ability to solve problems quickly and creatively
    • Experience using content management systems to update website content
    • Solid MS Office skills

     

    You’ll earn bonus points if you have:

    • Experience working in a government or government contracting environment
    • Experience working in Drupal
    • Basic knowledge of HTML
    • Experience with web metrics, SEO, and federal digital best practices
    • Knowledge of Section 508 compliance and remediation
    • Knowledge of social media and digital technology trends
