    Altarum Institute is seeking a Program Performance Analyst to join our Medical Education team within the Center for Healthy Women and Children. This position will initially support a multi-year Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services funded Medi-Cal 2020 waiver program called the Dental Transformation Initiative that is designed to reduce the burden of childhood dental disease in California, and our dental education activity encouraging adoption of Michigan’s Dental Registry (MiDR). The position may be located in Ann Arbor, MI or Washington, DC.

    As a Program Performance Analyst, you’ll be part of a team that works with our clients and partners to implement innovative methods of identifying children at high risk for dental disease, facilitating their access to appropriate and effective oral health interventions, and monitoring their progress. You’ll be supporting a first of its kind program to reduce dental caries - the most common chronic disease among children.

    The CHWC’s mission is to improve the health of women and children by strengthening health promotion programs and systems, care coordination and the use of preventive health services. As a Program Performance Analyst, you’ll have the opportunity to support a variety of other CHWC projects, shape the Center’s overall strategy, and participate in diffusion activities to promote expansion of effective interventions to other states. You’ll work with a passionate, innovative team of public health professionals, analysts, and researchers.


    Under the general direction of the Quality Improvement Advisor Lead, the Program Performance Analyst is responsible for monitoring the performance of approved medical and dental education activities, reporting activity progress, and disseminating findings both internally and externally. Specific responsibilities include the following:

    • Support building, customizing, and managing the Zoho Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool and Learning Management System (LMS) technical assistance, survey, and data collection modules
    • Create monthly performance dashboards to monitor recruitment success, attrition rates, and activity costs per participant
    • Manage performance reporting, send monthly attestation checklists to participating providers, i.e., medical or dental clinicians, and send completed attestation survey reports to the University of Michigan Office of Continuous Professional Development
    • Follow all applicable privacy and confidentiality procedures in daily work
    • Review paperwork, process contracts and Business Associate Agreements, and coordinate the processing of payments
    • Assist project leads and Medical Education Coordinator with day-to-day activities associated with conducting project activities, monitoring enrollment, and ensuring success in activity participation
    • Participate in weekly and monthly progress reporting meetings, and continuously identify areas for improvement by conducting audits
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the project directors or coordinators and Center leadership


    • Associate’s degree in public health or business, Bachelor’s degree preferred
    • One to two years of experience in data entry and project coordination
    • Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required
    • Experience using customer relationship tools or learning management systems is a plus
    • Ability to work on multiple tasks under different leads
    • Superior attention to detail characteristics
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
