  • Overview

Altarum Institute is seeking a Communications Associate to join our Center for Healthy Women and Children (CHWC) to support a multi-year Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services funded Medi-Cal 2020 waiver program called the Dental Transformation Initiative that is designed to reduce the burden of childhood dental disease in California. The position may be located in Ann Arbor, MI or Washington, DC.

As a Communications Associate, you will put in place (in collaboration with our client and partners) a communication plan to assist with rapidly improving the oral health of children in Los Angeles County. Through innovative methods of identifying children at high risk for dental disease, facilitating their access to appropriate and effective oral health interventions, and monitoring their progress, you’ll be helping to lead a first of its kind program to reduce dental caries – the most common chronic disease among children.

The CHWC’s mission is to improve the health of women and children by strengthening health promotion programs and systems, care coordination, and the use of preventive health services. As a Communications Associate, you’ll have the opportunity to support a variety of other CHWC projects, shape the Center’s overall communications strategy, and participate in diffusion activities to promote expansion of effective interventions to other states. You’ll work with a passionate, innovative team of public health professionals, analysts, and researchers.
