    Altarum has an immediate opening for a Healthcare Data Analyst in our Center for Military and Veterans Health supporting the Defense Health Agency (DHA). The position is located at the DHA client site in Falls Church, Virginia and may require occasional travel to Altarum offices and sites around the DC/VA area.


    • Provide Survey Program Management Support to the DHA Decision Support Division (DSD) for multiple surveys, including design, sampling, questionnaire/instrument development, data collection, analysis, benchmarking, and in-depth evaluation of study findings and reporting.
    • Provide subject matter expertise on the Military Health System (MHS) Beneficiary Survey Program including knowledge of MHS healthcare and appropriate comparisons to the civilian sector as required.
    • Support DHA DSD studies and research programs and projects, providing actionable results for DSD personnel and senior leaders for effective decision support.
    • Provide support for kick off meetings, provide minutes at vendor meetings, track and review action items, and help with data elements.
    • Support the HIPAA, Data Use Agreement, HRPP/IRB, SORN, PIA, MOA, and Licensure and Clearance processes.
    • Assist with the development of point papers, reports, supporting graphics, briefings, spreadsheets, and other formal documentation.
    • Provide limited support with contract activities involving non acquisition sensitive information, e.g., proofing documentation, reviewing reports, studies and analyses, researching, collecting and assembling information, assisting with Part B’s for MOA’s and helping with templates, acquisition policy and vendor vehicle analysis.


    • Familiarity with the DoD surveys, including Inpatient Satisfaction Surveys and the Health Care Survey of DoD Beneficiaries
    • Experience providing survey management support, including all aspects of survey design and analysis
    • Conceptual understanding of the MHS Beneficiary Survey Program and familiarity with civilian comparison data relevant to DoD surveys
    • Experience providing meeting support and assistance with DoD licensure and clearance processesExcellent writing, and presentation skills, augmented by the ability to work in a dynamic client and team environment.
    • Several years of experience producing professional work products such as white papers, reports and briefings using DoD survey data
    • Excellent writing, and presentation skills, augmented by the ability to work in a dynamic client and team environment.
    • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and standard Microsoft Office software applications is required.
    • Familiarity with DOD, DHA records management programs, travel regulations, correspondence and general administrative guidance
    • Must be comfortable working in fast-paced environment and managing a heavy workload and multiple projects with competing priorities, with ability to switch priorities quickly as needs change
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication skills, as well as good decision-making abilities and problem solving skills
    • Strong organizational skills; accurate and detail-oriented


    MUST be eligible for a Security Clearance (Sole U.S. Citizenship required)
