As an Information Systems Administrator in our Washington, DC office, you’ll be responsible for day-to-day tasks ranging from Tier I user support (PC and Mac) for both software and hardware to high level Windows and Network Administration.
Altarum’s Corporate Information Technology department supports 5 domestic locations, 200+ servers, and 450+ users. You’ll be part of a close knit team of IT professionals – working together as efficiently and effectively as possible, ultimately ensuring that our internal infrastructure groups and elite team of analysts, developers, editors, graphic artists, project managers, researchers, software engineers, video editors, web designers, and more… all have the tools they need to fulfill our mission of serving the public good to improve human health.
On a day-to-day basis, you’re going to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with IT colleagues on multiple simultaneous projects including maintenance, upgrades, and enhancements of our infrastructure. You’ll be responsible for making sure we’re going down the correct path, we’re following best practices, and our security is top notch. You’ll also provide local and remote support to Altarum Enterprise staff in Ann Arbor, MI, Portland, ME, Rockville, MD, Silver Spring, MD, and Washington, DC, as well as to staff that work primarily at client site’s or from home offices. We also expect you to grow professionally and technically - you’ll have the opportunity to attend a training class or an industry conference each year, and you’ll play an active role in our internal cross-training exercises.
